What does the number say?

BP is the pressure of blood pushing against the walls of your arteries.

It is important to know if your BP reading is in the healthy range or not.

If left untreated, hypertension can cause heart attack, stroke, dementia, kidney disease, vision loss amongst the serious consequences.**

Systolic (SYS) BP measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats.
Diastolic (DIA) BP measures the pressure in your arteries when your heart rest between beats.

Take your measurement in a quiet & comfortable environment.

It’s important to find a quiet room which grants you privacy with minimal distractions. This would ensure that readings are taken when you are calm, which improves accuracy.

Being aware of what environment is best suited to get your accurate BP readings.

How do I ensure accurate readings?

To achieve a state of relaxation, we recommend that you sit down for at least 5 minutes to rest prior to taking your measurements.

Follow these steps to maximize your reading’s accuracy:

1) Correct posture

  • Sit at your chair, place the BP monitor on your table and straighten your back.
  • Ensure that your back and arm is supported.
  • Keep feet flat, legs uncrossed, keep still and do not talk.

2) Applying the cuff on your left arm

  • Ensure that the tube side of the cuff is 1-2 cm above the inside elbow.
  • Ensure that the air tube is on the inside of your arm.
  • Wrap the cuff securely to prevent it from slipping during the measurement.
  • Position your arm in front of you, around the level of your heart.

3) Press the Start/Stop button to start measuring
